Gym Rat: Psssst! Hey bro, you need some gear?
You: Say what?
Gym Rat: Steroids man, you need some steroids?
You: What for?
Gym Rat: You know, to increase your testosterone and muscle mass.
You: Nah thanks man, I’m good. I know how to boost my testosterone naturally.
Now, I don’t really know if that’s how steroid dealers seek out new clients, but one thing’s for sure … you don’t need to buy strange pills from shady guys, to increase your testosterone levels.
All it takes is smart training, sound sleeping habits and a not-so-secret secret tip.
What’s the secret tip?

What is Testosterone and Why it is Good For You
Testosterone is your main male sex hormone, which is primarily responsible for growth and development of your sexual tissues.
And while sexual maturation is cool and whatnot, most guys are interested in testosterone, because it allows them to build bigger pecs and bulging biceps—just what the ladies like.
So, around 95% of your testosterone is produced in your testes, and the rest of it is produced by your adrenal glands.
The production of testosterone is a really a complex biological process, so I’m not going to bore you with details right now. With that said though, here’s the Cliffsnotes version, of how testosterone is made.
Basically, when your testes, a.k.a. your balls, get the message from your brain that it’s time to ramp up your testosterone production, your testicles start to use cholesterol—yes, you read that right, CHOLESTEROL!—to make testosterone. The testosterone is then released into your body, where it’s used for a bunch of cool stuff, like:
- building new muscle mass,
- making your bones stronger,
- improving your sex drive,
- burning body fat,
- and making you feel god damn awesome.
The Testosterone Delusion
Like I said, testosterone builds muscle mass, fast. That’s why professional bodybuilders inject themselves with testosterone produced in labs (a.k.a. steroids) to gain more muscle mass than it’s naturally possible.
So, testosterone is great, but there’s a problem.
Due to our shitty lifestyles—crappy diets combined with too much stress and lack of movement—and the anti-cholesterol/anti-fat propaganda in the media, there’s now an epidemic of men, with low testosterone levels.
I’m talking about 25 year-old guys with the same testosterone levels as 80 year-old farts, who have diabetes.
And what’s worse, when these guys get tested for their testosterone levels and they come up resulting as on the brink of hypogonadism, which is the medical term for messed up testosterone levels, their doctors tell them something like:
“Well, I see you’re barely within normal range, but the numbers are still OK, so I guess you’re fine!”
Are you kidding me?
Having testosterone levels as an 80 year old grandpa, when you’re at the peak of your adulthood, can’t be FINE.
I strongly recommend that you go check your testosterone levels to see where you’re at.
So, I know the situation looks grim, but fret not, for there is hope.
For boosting your testosterone levels is easy, if you know what you’re doing.
It can be done with this one simple, but often overlooked tip.
How to Increase Testosterone Naturally
Ok, first of all, let’s throw the usual advice out of the window.
We all know that strength training and sound sleeping habits help you produce more testosterone. If you’re not lifting weights and sleeping like mother nature wants you to, then you’re shooting yourself in the foot, big time. I don’t think I need to emphasize that.
But today, I want to talk about a special tip. A tip that rarely gets mentioned by the fitness gurus, let alone the media.
So, what’s this super-secret tip?
Here it is …
EAT MORE SATURATED FATS.
Haha, I can already hear the sound of alarm going on in your head.
“But isn’t like saturated fat really bad for your health, especially for your heart!?!”
No, it’s not. Let me tell you why.
You need saturated fats to live a healthy life, since most of your cell membrane and your brain is made out of saturated fats. Furthermore, studies have shown that a higher fat intake is correlated with higher testosterone levels.
So now the question is, which foods come jam-packed with saturated fats?
Simple, foods from animal sources, like:
- Fatty cuts of meat
My favorite are eggs. They’re also full with good cholesterol and they’re delicious to eat.
I actually bought 15 chickens, in order to have a steady supply of fresh, organic eggs. If I’m going to eat a ton of eggs, I might as well make sure that they’re top notch quality.
Take it a Step Further (Testosterone I/O)
While researching the topic of testosterone, I came across a really awesome resource called Testosterone I/O.
